Transformational Leadership


Transformational leadership is management which able to build up the changes of organization in school in reference to the values determined by empowering the whole school community through targeted communications, in order to the followers can work more energetic and focused, so that teaching and learning becomes transformative for everyone. Transformational leadership in principle is to motivate employees to do better than what is usually done. So, transformational leadership is as a management style encouraging all components related to the school activities, they are; teachers, students, staff, parents and community, to participate optimally in achieving the ideal school objective. 



Therefore, the formulation of the problem statements in this research were (i) How is the application of ideal influence in the transformational leadership to develop SMAN 1 Parepare?, (ii) How is the application of the inspirational motivation in the transformational leadership to develop SMAN 1 Parepare?, (iii) How is the application of the intellectual stimulative in the transformational leadership to develop SMAN 1 Parepare?, (iv) How is the application of the individual consideration in the  transformational leadership to develop SMAN 1 Parepare?, (v) What factors does the transformational leadership affect to develop SMAN 1 Parepare?
The purpose of this research at finding out  (i) the application of the ideal influence in the transformational leadership to develop SMAN 1 Parepare; (ii) the application of the inspirational motivation in the transformational leadership to develop SMAN 1 Parepare; (iii) the application of the intellectual stimulative in the transformational leadership to develop SMAN 1 Parepare; (iv ) the application of the individual consideration in the transformational leadership to develop SMAN 1 Parepare, (v) Factors affecting the principal transformational leadership to develop SMAN 1 Parepare. The research applying qualitative method with observation and in-depth interviews.
The finding indicated that implementing of transformational leadership of the head of SMAN 1 Parepare  is a natural ability for principals so that the implementation of the four dimensions of transformational leadership by giving awards for the performance of the school community, building team work in implementing the vision and mission, empowering the school community based on the competence of the individual, braiding reciprocal communication with personal interactive without discriminating status, building the unity in facing school development problems in the consensus agreement form of the charitable context by giving direction of school development, delivering service without discrimination to all with open minded attitude, asking to find a smart solution to all of criticism and caring to the development of the school member career.
