THE STUDENT LEARNING SUCCESSFUL MANAGEMENT
(Case Studies on Different Levels of Two Students’ Academic
 Achievement at SD Negeri 5 Parepare)

The ability to manage the learning in the form of planning, implementation, monitoring, and assessment and also the roles of parents makes students who constantly obtain achievement and who do not at SD Negeri 5 Parepare. The objectives of this study were to examine (i) the planning of learning; (ii) the implementation of learning; (iii) supervision of learning; (iv) the evaluation of learning; and (v) the parents’ role on the successfulness of student learning both of the achievement one and lack of achievement one with involving three groups of subject of the study, namely; 1) students groups, 2) teachers group and 3) parents group. This study employed qualitative approach with a case study. Data were through interviews, observation and documentation study with the result revealed that: (i) Planning of student learning with the achievement one, MFH, was in the form of arranging learning schedule by sticking it to the notebook which was done by himself; whereas, the lack of achievement one, AFH,  was in the form of a poster by sticking it to the wall with help of the parents, (ii) The implementation of student learning with the achievement one was conducted by taking notes from the teacher's explanations and answering questions from the students’ book

Abstract


THE TRANSFORMATIONAL LEADERSHIP OF  THE PRINCIPAL
OF SMAN 1 PAREPARE

The problem statements of the study were how was the implementation of ideal influence, inspiring motivation, intellectual stimulation, individual consideration in developing SMAN 1 Parepare, and factors which influence in developing SMAN 1 Parepare. This study aims at examining  the implementation of ideal influence, inspiring motivation, intellectual stimulation, individual consideration in developing SMAN 1 Parepare, and the factors which influence in developing SMAN 1 Parepare. The study employs qualitative descriptive by conducting observation, interview and documentation study. The result of the study revealed that; (i) the ideal influence of transformational leadership was conducted by giving model to each member of the school in conducting the task without direct intervention from the principal with the principle of putting the school first than personal matter, and honest and responsible on the use of the development aid fund for the sake of  both of improving the status in terms of  facility and infrastructure of the school, (ii) the inspiring motivation of transformational leadership was conducted by giving a hope to the achievers who had innovation in implementing the vision and mission of the school by providing awards  in the form of financial and  appreciation, (iii) the intellectual stimulation of transformational leadership was conducted by giving encouragement the school members to take active participation to the activity entrusted to him, and conducting democratic approach to create a conducive atmosphere in providing stimulation process, (iv) the individual consideration of transformational leadership was conducted by showing empathy to the school members in facing the difficulties in both career development or job promotion, and (v) the factor which influence the transformational leadership in developing the school was the strategy factor; however, the school development is gradually getting better.

Keberhasilan belajar siswa didasari kemampuan memanage belajar dalam bentuk perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengawasan, penilaian dan peran orang tua. Siswa yang secara konstan berprestasi dan tidak berprestasi (sejak kelas I sampai V) merupakan suatu fenomena yang terjadi di SD Negeri 5 Parepare.
Rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah bagaimana; (i) perencanaan belajar siswa yang berprestasi (MFH) dan yang kurang berprestasi (AFH)?, (ii) pelaksanaan belajar siswa yang berprestasi dan yang kurang berprestasi?, (iii) pengawasan belajar siswa yang berprestasi dan yang kurang berprestasi?, (iv) penilaian belajar siswa yang berprestasi dan yang kurang berprestasi?, (v) peran orang tua dalam mengelola belajar siswa yang berprestasi dan yang kurang berprestasi?. Subyek penelitian ini terdiri dari tiga kelompok, yaitu; 1) kelompok siswa, 2) kelompok guru dan 3) kelompok orang tua. Subyek penelitian pada kelompok siswa, terdiri dari 2 orang siswa, yaitu; 1 orang siswa (MFH) kelas V yang berprestasi (berprestasi sejak kelas I sampai kelas V), dan 1 orang siswa (AFH) yang kurang berprestasi. Dan subyek penelitian pada kelompok guru terdiri dari dari 2 orang, yaitu; 1 orang tenaga pendidik selaku guru mata pelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam dan 1 orang guru kelas atau wali kelas V. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana (i) perencanaan belajar; (ii) pelaksanaan belajar; (iii) pengawasan belajar; (iv) penilaian belajar; dan (v) peran orang tua dalam keberhasilan belajar siswa baik yang berprestasi maupun yang kurang berprestasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif jenis studi kasus dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, observasi dan studi documenter.
